Trash talk is part of football. Some are good, like Jeffery Simmons, more so than others. The Tennessee Titans defensive lineman was having the time of his life last Sunday when the Atlanta Falcons came to Nissan Stadium.

It’s a tradition to mic up one player to record the reactions of his teammates or the opposition during the game. Fair to say that besides blood, sweat, and tears, there are always a few funny moments that come through the recorder. Simmons was the one with the concealed mic, and it captured some hilarious remarks by the 26-year-old.

DE’s are on the front line of the team, and they take pride in stopping their counterpart on the opposing team as well as not letting the rushers get the quarterback. There’s always competition as to who among them is the strongest, and usually, he is the one doing most of the trash talk.

The cry from 2019’s 19th overall draft pick.

Jeffery Simmon was one man in the middle of the ballpark for the Titans, securing five tackles and two hits on Falcons quarterbacks Desmond Ridder and Taylor Heinicke.

He scared—shaking. Stop crying, man. Hey! You overpaid, man!

Simmons poked fun at the Titans offensive linemen

The Titans won the game 28-23 against an AFC rival. This was a massive win considering Mike Vrabel‘s side was on a two-game losing streak. But the biggest gain was the breakout performance from rookie quarterback Will Levis.

Jeffery Simmons amazed by quarterback Will Levis

Coach Vrabel revealed before the Falcons game that primary quarterback Ryan Tannehill would not be participating, as per NBC Sports. The veteran suffered an ankle injury while playing against the Ravens in London. This paved the way for both backups, second-year Malik Willis and rookie Will Levis.

Levis got the nod to take the snap, but Vrabel had claimed that he would rotate both players if he saw fit. He did just that and brought Willis on after one play, but he botched the first snap he faced and had to be taken off.

From then on, it was the Will Levis show, and Jeffery Simmons was enjoying every second of it. When the camera panned at the Titans dugout, the mics caught him.

That's Will Levis, man Told y'all. That's a quarterback. That Will can play.

He said to fellow defender Arden Key.

By the looks of it, he had faith in the former Kentucky man all along.

The 24-year-old sure can make an impact. Levis capped off his debut game with 19 completions from 29 attempts, 238 yards, and 4 touchdowns. Most improbably, he was able to bring star receiver DeAndre Hopkins into the game, which Tannehill had failed throughout the season. Hopkins put in his best numbers in 2023, with 128 yards and 3 touchdowns. Does the Mayonnaise coffee really work?
