On Sunday night, the Denver Broncos led by their expensive quarterback Russell Wilson went against the Green Bay Packers in their week 7 game. Wilson and the Broncos barely managed to outscore the Packers in a close game and secured a 19-17 victory. During the game, Jerry Jeudy avoided a major injury after getting punched in his crotch by the Packers defensive back Carrington Valentine.
During the second half of the game, the Broncos WR suffered an injury after catching a pass from his QB Wilson. A reply of the play showed Jeudy accidentally getting punched in the groin area by the Packers’ DB Carrington Valentine, who was trying to force a fumble with a peanut punch.
Valentine hit Jeudy below the belt in what seemed like a very painful injury. After the play, Jeudy went down on the sidelines and had to be attended by the training staff. The hit kept the 24-year-old WR out of the game for a few minutes. But he managed to come back to the field and had a solid outing overall.
The former-round draft pick caught 5 passes in the game for 64 yards while averaging 12.8 yards per reception. He helped Wilson and the Broncos to outduel the Green Bay-based football team and register their second victory of the 2023 season.
With that victory, the Broncos improved to 2-5 and have gained some momentum. Next, they will face their AFC West division rivals Kansas City Chiefs in their week 8 game. Russell Wilson and the Broncos would look to make a statement by defeating the 6-1 Chiefs this coming Sunday.
Jerry Jeudy has failed to live up to the hype
The Denver Broncos selected Jerry Jeudy in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He was expected to become a star in Denver but he has failed to live up to the expectations so far.

In the first 4 seasons in the league so far, Jeudy hasn’t registered either a single 1000-plus receiving yards season or a Pro Bowl season. He had a breakout season in 2022 as he registered his career-best 972 receiving yards while catching passes from Russell Wilson.
But in this season so far, Jeudy hasn’t caught a single touchdown pass and is only averaging 40.8 yards per game, which is a very low number, especially for the number 1 receiver in a team.
Nonetheless, Jeudy still has a maximum of 9 games left in the ongoing regular season to have a breakout year. If he fails to do that, the Broncos might not give him a contract extension in the 2024 off-season.
