One of the biggest stories that came out of the week 6 NFL regular season was the beef between the Denver Broncos wide receiver Jerry Jeudy and the Carolina Panthers legend Steve Smith. The former Panthers wideout lashed out on Jeudy during NFL Network’s pre-game show ahead of Denver’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs. And now, Jeudy has opened up about his beef with Smith.
"I don't got no hate toward Steve Smith. He's a good player and all the stuff like that. I just stand on what I stand on. You feel me? If you feel some type of way, keep that same energy when you see me in person."Jeudy said to Associated Press.
Smith revealed in the pregame show that he tried to apologize to the Broncos receiver for referring him to as “Just another guy” earlier in the week. But when Smith went over to apologize to Jeudy, the wideout disrespected the Panthers icon by saying, “I don’t mess with you.”
That reaction from Jeudy prompted Steve Smith to go on a rant about how the former first-round pick was a tier-three wide receiver. Now, Jeudy has acknowledged that he shouldn’t have disrespected the Panthers icon but he still stood by his actions.
One thing I do agree on is I feel like I should have listened to what he had to say. But at the same time, I'm going back to my roots and where I'm from. When somebody talks bad about you behind your back, don't expect to come to them in person and think everything is going to be OK.
After the pregame disrespect on national television, many expected Jeudy to have a breakout game against the Chiefs. But he only caught 3 passes for 14 yards in the Broncos’ loss against the Kansas City-based football team.
Jerry Jeudy is on the trade block per reports
The Broncos’ former 1st round pick Jerry Jeudy is having a slow start to his 2023 campaign, where he was expected to be the primary target for Russell Wilson in Sean Payton‘s offense.

Through the first 6 weeks so far, Jeudy has only caught 20 passes for 222 receiving yards. Moreover, he has yet to catch a touchdown pass in this ongoing season.
As a result, the Broncos are looking to move on from Jeudy according to reports. Multiple teams including the Indianapolis Colts have shown interest in acquiring the 24-year-old talented pass catcher.
