After 30 years of waiting, Jerry Jones finally witnessed his Dallas Cowboys win their first playoff game on the road since 1992. The 1992 Cowboys had defeated the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship matchup and went on to win the first of their three Super Bowl Champion titles that earned them the moniker “America’s Team.”

Thanks to Dak Prescott and a solid defense, the Cowboys were able to defeat Tom Brady, who had a 7-0 record against them prior to the game. Jerry Jones is probably one of the most hands-on owners in the entire league. He serves as the Owner, President, and General Manager of the Dallas Cowboys.

He has often drawn criticism for his harsh take on his coaching staff and his handling of personnel. Jones also has very high expectations of his team each season and the team always fails him. The cycle has continued since their last Super Bowl win in 1995.

After Dallas wiped the floor with Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Jerry Jones had a delusion of grandeur again. With just one victory on the long and difficult road to the finals, Jones is already dreaming of the Lombardi Trophy shining in his hands. “Can it be done? We’ll find out,” Jones said via ProFootballTalk. “But this team has a talent level and now has the intangible experiences that getting knocked down, getting up – all of those things we hear about, all of those things that represent football, all of that stuff, this team has had some of that.”

“Everybody on this team knew that when they came to Tampa today that the world thought that Tom [Brady] would be sitting out there snatching it out, if not the last minute then maybe even earlier. And we’re getting to go home and get to go home again in San Francisco. We’ve got more mustard than when we got here.”

Jones said six months back that he believes the 2022 Cowboys are capable of winning the Super Bowl. He reiterated the same after the wild card win and said that the team had the skills and they got the experience last night and that makes them ready for the Super Bowl win. Although one win doesn’t guarantee the World Championship. The Cowboys will first have to beat Brock Purdy and the 49ers who are on an unbelievable 11-win streak.

If they manage to win against the 49ers, and Philadelphia Eagles get the best of the New York Giants, Dallas will face the Eagles at home for the NFC Championship. All of Jones’ expectations will be met next Sunday when the Cowboys will be at Levi’s Stadium in the divisional round of the playoffs against the 49ers.
