Ever since Aaron Rodgers’ name became a likely candidate for Vice President under Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s reign as the US President, it appeared to have caused a stir on the internet as well as in the NFL world. It directly contradicts the quarterback’s plan to play two-three more seasons in the league as the Jets’ starting quarterback.
Although Rodgers hasn’t made any public statement confirming his candidacy for the upcoming presidential elections in the States, his good friend and Independent presidential candidate, Kennedy Jr. has been quite vocal about his potential running mate. Amidst the whole saga, fans have wondered what the New York Jets have to say about it.

A source close to Pro Football Network reported the franchise is confident that their star quarterback, who played only one snap last season due to his Achilles injury, will not run for Vice President. But the former NFL MVP still hasn’t said anything about whether or not he will be making his political debut, not even to the Jets despite the heavy rumors. As of March 15, the quarterback hasn’t assured the Jets about his participation as the starter for them this upcoming season.
The reason why everyone awaits Rodgers’ decision on the Vice President candidacy is because he won’t be able to juggle both at the same time. If he does, it will be a big distraction throughout the season, especially because he couldn’t play last season and the Jets crumbled at 7-10.
Aaron Rodgers’ silence raises eyebrows amidst the campaign talks
It isn’t confirmed whether or not the Jets’ quarterback’s name will appear on the ballot at the upcoming United States presidential elections. But Rodgers’ silence gave an alternative theory suggesting it was nothing but a short-term publicity boost for Kennedy Jr.’s election campaign.
Despite the heavy rumors and Kennedy Jr.’s interviews talking about Rodgers’ candidacy, the quarterback remained quiet. Instead, he addressed a different controversial issue on social media, partially denying his association with Sandy Hook’s conspiracy theories reported by CNN.

Moreover, his association with Kennedy Jr. and the Vice President spot would only make it easier for him to enter politics later in his career. Even if he decides not to run this time, he may take it under consideration for the future’s perspective.
