The former Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook is one of the most desired free agents in the league currently. He has been linked to multiple teams in the off-season ever since he was released by the Vikings in a cost-cutting move. Now, he was hosted by the New York Jets during their training camp over the weekend.
The Jets hosted Dalvin Cook on a free-agent visit during their Sunday training camp. Cook was visiting the Jets’ facility in Florham Park on Sunday. During his visit, the talented running back was showered with love by the Jets fans as they chanted “Dal-vin Cook!” and “Sign that contract” while Cook was watching the Jets’ practice session. Check out the footage below.
The 4-time Pro Bowl RB responded to the chants on social media with a green heart. Furthermore, during the visit, he was also seen interacting with several players and coaching staff on the sidelines. Woody Johnson, owner of the New York-based football team, also spent some time with the explosive rusher on the sidelines according to reports.
Cook is the best available free agent RB in the game and has gained interest from multiple teams, including the Jets’ AFC East rivals Miami Dolphins and the New England Patriots. But as of now, Cook has no more free agent visits scheduled on his calendar.
He is expected to sign with the Jets soon, but anything could happen in the NFL at any moment. So, the Jets fans have to wait a little longer to see if their team can land Cook ahead of the 2024 season.
Dalvin Cook had only good things to say about the Jets
Ever since the Jets acquired Aaron Rodgers from the Green Bay Packers in a blockbuster trade back in April, the New York-based franchise has been seen as a Super Bowl contender by many experts.
And now, free agent RB Dalvin Cook has also brought in the idea of the Jets winning it all in the near future under the veteran QB Rodgers’ leadership. Just ahead of his official visit on Sunday, Cook shared his thoughts about the Jets’ current situation.
“Their whole roster, I think it’s exciting,” Cook said in an interview with ESPN’s NFL Live on Saturday. “I think the coaching staff, I think everything about what they got going on, just says winning. It’s just got it written all on it.”
The Jets already boast one of the best offensive backfields in the league with Breece Hall and Michael Carter on their roster. If they end up adding Cook, who has been to 4 Pro Bowls in his last four seasons, to their squad, they could become unstoppable when it comes to ground game.
