Quoting the great Benjamin Franklin, there are only two things certain in life- Death and Taxes. However, you can add another point to it, that being the New York Jets’ never improving offense after they proved it with yet another disappointing showing against the New England Patriots.

Head coach Robert Saleh was extremely disappointed with the quality shown on the pitch during their 10-3 defeat, in what turned out to be an extremely cagey affair. Quarterback Zach Wilson’s inability to force the play was clear throughout the defeat and the youngster had to bear the brunt of the fans as well as his teammates, apparently.

The Jets only managed to accumulate a total of 103 yards, a number that clearly depicts the situation they are in currently. Robert Saleh did not hold back in his post-match press conference meeting while talking about their performance.

Robert Saleh did not want to point fingers toward a particular player as Wilson had a shocking outing against the Patriots

“It was dog-shit. I don’t know. We couldn’t run the ball, either,” Saleh responded when asked about Wilson. “So, there’s a lot of things we need to look at to see if we can find efficiency in the offense. It’s not about pointing fingers at any one individual or one unit or one anything. It’s just finding the answers so we can start moving the ball.”

After the defeat, rumors of Jets players turning on Zach Wilson have gained momentum, as they feel that the quarterback particularly let down the team defense, who did an outstanding job in the game. However, when quizzed on the subject, Wilson did not seem to concur with the idea of letting his defense down.

The 24-year-old nonchalantly replied, “No. No.” This did not go down well with DE John Franklin Myers in particular, who liked a tweet through his official account criticizing Wilson.

With the level of performances that Wilson has produced in recent weeks as the Jets currently boast of a 6-4 result, it might not be very late before Robert Saleh actually starts thinking about changing his no.1 quarterback for the rest of the season. Joe Flacco, the backup QB, might not have to wait for much longer to get back into the scheme of things.
