Last Sunday, late in the game, the New York Jets staged a comeback against their divisional rivals Las Vegas Raiders, after their defense managed a fumble. Unfortunately, quarterback Zach Wilson threw an interception and that was the end for the Jets.
As a result, the Jets had to accept a defeat at 16-12, their second straight loss after their three-game winning streak. That interception summed up as the most frustrating moment of the game, for the Jets’ offense. On the other hand, Raiders star wide receiver Davante Adams had a fabulous night logging 86 receiving yards on six receptions and 13 targets.

After this loss, the Jets are now standing at 4-5 ahead of their return match against the Buffalo Bills on the coming Sunday. Wilson expressed his frustration over his interception and winning against Adams.
There's so much frustration, I don't know how to put it any other way. The hard thing is I know everyone is battling. We just have to find a way to be better out there.
This one miscue outweighed the quarterbacks’ overall performance from the evening. He recorded 23 of 39 passes for 263 yards. As the Jets’ leading rusher, Wilson also logged picking up 54 yards on 4 carriers. Not only that, last Sunday’s game, Wilson became the first player in the history of the Jets to record 250 passing yards and 50 rushing yards, all in just one game.
Wilson continued:
I was looking to step out, I didn't want to get hurt. They gave me a lane to dive there and protect myself. I knew I was close on to the sideline, unfortunately I stepped out. We scored on the next play, but it was called back on a penalty. We've got to find a way to be better.
Despite the interception late in the game, the Jets got the ball back with just 53 seconds remaining. But, as there was so little time left, they couldn’t manage for a big win. The team had a good play, but there are a lot of things that need to be worked on if they plan to score defeat next week.
How Zach Wilson’s poor performance is costing the Jets a playoff spot
In the last eight games this season, New York Jets’ quarterback Wilson has thrown for just 1600 yards along with a passer rating lower than 60%. So far, he has thrown only 5 picks and 5 touchdown passes. Despite these awful stats, he continued to be the starting quarterback of the Jets, who are ranked second last in the AFC East division.

Wilson has a great hold within his team, as before signing with the Rams, the Jets were offered the former Eagles veteran quarterback Carson Wentz. But they turned him down, as a favor to Wilson.
In the game against the Raiders, the defense couldn’t grope the opponent until the very end. And despite the efforts, Wilson’s interception ruined their hopes to score the victory. If the Jets aim for the playoffs, quarterback Wilson and the offense need to step up their game.
