For the uninitiated, Sauce Gardner had a brilliant performance last season. He registered 57 tackles and defended 11 passes. In addition, the player also forced a fumble. According to a report by Bleacher Report, the CB did not give up a passing touchdown.
Despite the poor form of the New York Jets, the CB proved to be an exception. He won the Defensive Rookie of the Year Award in 2022. He was PFF’s top-ranked cornerback in the 2023–24 season. He also had the second-best coverage grade in his position and was selected as the Pro Bowler and All-Pro in two consecutive years.
Gardner is not interested in the Sam Howell deal
The cornerback has been an active figure on social media. He recently shared some interesting takes on the future of Aaron Rodgers. There are rumors that Sam Howell, the quarterback who plays for the Washington Commanders, can be a part of the team in the New York Jets.
The rumors gathered steam after journalist Conor Hughes took on the matter.
Howell proved this year he can play, There are flaws to his game, but none where the season is lost if he has to play… There are those in the Jets building who believe he can play, too. Maybe two years learning behind Rodgers really unlocks his potential and he ends up being his replacement.Conor Hughes claimed

With the rumors galloping, Gardner was asked about the possible scenario. The CB refuted it by saying that he was not interested in any such things. He further noted that Aaron Rodgers would be the key factor for the Jets.
