Cross-town rivalries always bring out tons of emotions in players, so it’s natural to see that spill out on the field. The preseason match between the New York-based teams did not have a friendly outlook. One of the unfriendly encounters happened between Jets QB Aaron Rodgers and Giants defensive end Jihad Ward.
As it’s Hard Knock’s season for the Jets, mic’d up Aaron Rodgers and his unfriendly interaction made it into the latest episode. It showed that Ward lightly shoving the veteran signal-caller. Rodgers seemed dissatisfied with the nudge, so he told the linebacker to show some respect. The 39-year-old also added that he did not know who Ward was. Later, after a touchdown pass to Garrett Wilson, he sought out Ward and told him never to poke the bear.
But the former Ravens and Jaguars guard claimed that HBO failed to show his side of the story. “They’re [HBO] going to show his part,” Jihad Ward said, as per Jordan Raanan of ESPN. Ward expressed his disappointment in the media house not accurately portraying the event.
Ward is ten years younger than Rodgers but a seven-year NFL veteran. During that time, there have been skirmishes against opposition players; however, this is new for the former Colt. Ward continued, “It’s all about Aaron Rodgers at the end of the day. They make me look like a sucker, but I ain’t going for that.”
Jihad Ward did not appreciate Aaron Rodgers’ laughter

Aaron Rodgers threw a pass to Tyler Conklin. During the play, Randall Cobb spotted safety Bobby McCain rushing toward Conklin. Cobb hit McCain but it turned out to be an illegal blindside tackle.
Jihad Ward said Aaron Rodgers and Randall Cobb smirked during the huddle shortly after. The entire Giants squad was upset due to the nature of the play. McCain was taken off due to the concussion protocol. However, Rodgers did not think it was a foul.
The 6-foot-5-inch (287-pounder) looks forward to the next meeting. Wild has to wait until October 29 to face the New York Jets again. The regular season matchup promises an exciting action with plenty of potentially heated moments.
