The Los Angeles Chargers have put their faith in the National Championship-winning head coach Jim Harbaugh for their upcoming season. The team will try to restructure themselves under the guidance of Harbaugh who is about to start his second stint in the NFL as a head coach.
On April 2nd, Harbaugh welcomed his players to the Hoag Performance Center to gear up for the next season. It is no secret that the head coach is a practicing Roman Catholic who espouses his belief in the almighty often. Harbaugh said that for those practicing Christianity and Catholicism, January 1st is the start of the new year but for those involved in football, April 2nd is the start of the new year.
Like the start of the new year, 'Happy New Year' that is what feels, like the first day of school, family reunion, homecoming, most people think January first is the start of the new year. Those that espouse to Christianity, Catholicism, correlate it with the birth of Christ. But us in football? Today, April 2nd: Start of the new year. So, it is great. Great day for Football. For meanings and the trainings.Jim Harbaugh told the press.
The Los Angeles Chargers have not witnessed key success over the past few years. They have made it to the playoffs only once in the last 5 years. With just five wins and 12 losses, the last season was an utter disappointment for them as a result of which quarterback Justin Herbert was subjected to a lot of criticism. Following that, analysts had multiple thoughts that the new head coach would not prefer him as a starter.
Nevertheless, Harbaugh after taking charge, put his faith in Herbert. But with time, it seems that things have changed much. The Chargers might go for a trade for Herbert. The possible trade can pave the way for JJ McCarthy, who is a known figure to Harbaugh. With McCarthy, Michigan under Harbaugh won the National Championship last year. Hence, a reunion is a realistic possibility.
Jim Harbaugh is quite vocal about his religious faith
Jim Harbaugh never shies away from praising the almighty. He often holds the almighty responsible for the success that he has had in his career. In addition, the veteran even co-relates football with Christianity. He did the same after winning the National Championship.

Harbaugh admitted that Jesus is a key figure in his life. He even said that he has a feeling that Jesus might come back now in this era and would’ve been a five-star player.
I have a feeling that if Jesus would have come back now in this era, I suppose that many of the biblical analogies and teachings would be about sports, as well as agriculture, maybe a combination of the two. Solomon would have been a great coach, too. I have that feeling. Jesus would have been a five-star. He would have been a five-star player, no doubt about it. He would have been a Hall of Fame coach.Jim Harbaugh said.
Harbaugh even took his team to Italy in 2017 which included a visit to Vatican City where he met Pope Francis. The coach publicly set his priorities straight- faith, then family, then football.
