Minter helped the Wolverines win their first national championship title in the college football playoffs era. He also helped them to win back-to-back Big 10 conference titles and CFP appearances. He is now bidding them goodbye after a successful two-year run in Michigan. Before coming to Michigan, Minter spent a year as the defensive coordinator for the Vanderbilt Commodores team.
He has a long history as a coordinator as he started being one back in 2011 at Indiana State. Later he held the same role at Georgia State. He also spent three years in the NFL before as a Baltimore Ravens assistant under Jim Harbaugh’s brother, John.
Minter did an impressive job in Michigan as his team allowed the fewest points (13.1 PPG)in the nation during his two seasons as their defensive coordinator. In 2022, he was named as one of the finalists for the Broyles Award, which is given to the nation’s top assistant coach. And now, he is entering the big leagues as a defensive coordinator. Minter took to social media to announce his departure from Michigan.
