The beauty of football is the energy involved in the locker room. Be it a pre-game speech from the captains, the halftime speech delivered by head coaches with much enthusiasm when their team is down in order to motivate them, or the post-game speech celebrating a win by ensuring the team’s morale continues to remain high, they are all equally exciting to watch as they tend to send a chill down the spine of viewers as well.

However, Jimbo Fisher‘s last speech to his college football team was far from an exciting one to watch. Despite Texas A&M‘s crushing victory over Mississippi State on Saturday, Fisher ended up being fired the very next day. He just sounded defeated, uninterested, and just downright boring.

Fisher in his speech said,

You put them away. You didn't give them hope to get back in the game, it was a great team effort. A great job.

He gave out the most generic victory speech of all time. It was as though he did not want to be there. Texas A&M ranks 4th in the SEC West with 6 wins and 4 losses so far.

Jimbo Fisher will walk away a rich man despite being fired

Fisher praised his players, he gave the offense and the defense their props. Towards the end of his speech, players did attempt to elevate the energy in the locker room and the head coach just ended by hoping that the team would have a shot to get to a good Bowl game.

The very next day, he ended up getting fired but he walked away a wealthy man as the University owed him $76 million in order to buy him out. Did Jimbo Fisher know that he was going to lose his job just a day later? It could be a possibility but irrespective, his energy definitely did not feel like it would motivate anyone.

Fans online felt disappointed with his final speech to the players and here’s what they had to say on X.
