The NFL is suspending Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo for two games for violating the league’s official performance-enhancing substances policy as per Adam Schefter of ESPN. The quarterback supposedly used a prescribed medication without having a valid therapeutic use exemption. He failed to inform the league and get prior permission.

It may have been an honest mistake on his part. The quarterback has decided to serve the suspension and will not suit up for the first two weeks of the 2024-25 season. He has decided to forego his right to appeal the suspension. His troubles do not stop there, after his tumultuous season with the Las Vegas Raiders this year, Jimmy G is most likely not going to remain on their roster.

It was far from an ideal year for the veteran who played in 7 games and had 1,205 yards, 7 touchdowns and 9 interceptions. Jimmy G was the starter Josh McDaniels preferred over a rookie Aidan O’Connell. But eventually, once Antonio Pierce took over, Jimmy G was eventually injured and the rookie ended up taking over. The quarterback could be let go before the 5th of March as he will be entitled to a $11.25 million roster bonus otherwise.

Jimmy Garoppolo is likely to be released by the Raiders

The Las Vegas Raiders will roll the dice in the NFL Draft and hope to bring in a fresh face at the quarterback position. Jimmy G will become a free agent and hope that he is able to get a spot as a veteran on an NFL team. The suspension is unlikely to have any significant impact on his trade value. He will still be eligible to participate in OTAs and other activities, but he will not be eligible to play in the first two games of this season.
