The Cincinnati Bengals and the Kansas City Chiefs have been involved in a lot of banter in the last few weeks. Both camps have been sending shots at each other which has fired up their rivalry. Amidst the trash talks, the Bengals QB Joe Burrow sent an honest message about his relationship with teammate Ja’Marr Chase after firing a warning shot at Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs.

“We have a strong bond off the field and that translates onto the field. I think everybody can see that,” Burrow said talking about his relationship with Ja’Marr Chase in an interview with Kameron Hay of Complex Sports published on Monday. “And you’re not going to be a great team if your best players aren’t close, trust each other and work really hard. And I think as a team, all of our guys that are in that position have those traits.”

The Pro Bowl signal-caller Joe Burrow went on to stress the importance of good relationships between teammates off the football field for a team’s success.

“I think also our guys understand how critical it is that you build that bond off the field,” Burrow said. “Not just quarterback and receiver, but we have our defensive guys hanging out with offensive guys and vice versa. And I think it’s kind of rare.”

In the same interview, Burrow also put a stop to all the off-season trash talks by sending a warning shot to Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. He said that all the banters will be settled on the field when they face each other in December. The Kansas City-based franchise is set to host the Bengals at Arrowhead on New Year’s Eve in an exciting matchup between two Super Bowl contenders.

Joe Burrow is due for an MVP season

The Bengals franchise leader Joe Burrow has been a tremendous asset for the Cincinnati-based franchise ever since he entered the league. In the two full seasons he played, Burrow led the Bengals to AFC Championship on both occasions.

And the Bengals have successfully surrounded him with talent all across the field. Their Super Bowl window is now open as long as Burrow keeps playing well for them.

And now, he is due for some individual success. Burrow won the Comeback Player of the Year award for the 2021 season on the back of a remarkable campaign after suffering an ACL injury the previous season.

Now it’s for an MVP award. The talented quarterback has been in the MVP conversation for the last couple of seasons. And now, if he can stay healthy in the upcoming season, he certainly has a shot at taking home the hardware as the best player in the league.
