The intense rivalry between the Joe Burrow-led Cincinnati Bengals and the Patrick Mahomes-led Kansas City Chiefs continues to grow as every single week passes. Both camps have been involved in a lot of trash talks over the last few weeks. And now, the Bengals QB has seemingly put a stop to all the off-field shenanigans with a perfect response.

“The best thing about that is it’s all settled on the field,” Burrow said in an interview with Kameron Hay of Complex Sports that was published on Monday. “So, we’ll see them in December.” The Bengals are scheduled to take on the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium on New Year’s Eve in a much-anticipated matchup.

Just a few weeks ago, the Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase stirred the pot by disrespecting the Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes while crowning Burrow as the best player in the NFL. His comments warranted a subtle yet deadly comeback from Mahomes and a blatant warning from the Chiefs’ star tight end Travis Kelce.

The trash talks have been going on for weeks and now Burrow has had enough of it. On the field, Burrow has the edge over Mahomes when it comes to head-to-head matchups. Burrow holds a 3-1 record against the Chiefs in his career, with his only loss coming at last season’s AFC Championship game.

The off-field shenanigans have created a lot of excitement for the Chiefs-Bengals matchup in December. There are also chances of a potential playoff game between them in January.

The Bengals under the leadership of Joe Burrow have been competing for the Super Bowl in the last two years. They have been to consecutive AFC Championship games and even won once.

But they couldn’t finish the job as they suffered a loss against the Los Angeles Rams in the Super Bowl back in February 2022. But now, Burrow believes they can get the job done.

“I think we’ve put a great plan together the last couple of years. Now, we just have to finish it off. We have essentially the same team with, you know, a couple lost pieces, but we also added a couple pieces that I think will help us,” said Burrow to Kameron Hay.

Burrow and the Cincinnati-based football team are one of the top contenders from the AFC North. If the talented quarterback can stay healthy, he can certainly lead the Bengals to a potential Super Bowl victory in the upcoming season.
