Cincinnati Bengals finally took a breath of relief as the NFL investigation found them not guilty of failing to place the injured quarterback Joe Burrow on the injured list. Last month, the quarterback was viewed as injured during the practice game before the week 11 game, however, he wasn’t on the injured list.

The thing that put the Bengals under NFL officials’ radar was a social media post a day before the game against the Baltimore Ravens, where Burrow was wearing a compression sleeve on his right hand. Though the post was later deleted, it sure was seen by many.

As Jonathan Jones of CBS reported last Saturday, after reviewing the medical reports and studying the practice footage, the NFL officials found no violation of rules by the Bengals.

In the game, the quarterback eventually suffered a torn ligament in his right wrist, resulting in a suffered a season-ending injury. When he was attempting the touchdown throw to running back Joe Mixon, Burrow felt a pop on being hit by Ravens’ defensive end Jadeveon Clowney. Based on the Bengals’ social media post, it seemed like the quarterback was already suffering from a wrist injury which became more serious when he tore his wrist ligament, he ended up being benched at such a crucial time.

After the game, on November 17, head coach Zac Taylor announced that the quarterback had been marked out for the remaining season. Both he and Burrow confirmed that the injury he suffered was unrelated to the compression sleeve, adding it’s common for NFL players to wear it preventively while travelling.

Although it’s good news for the Bengals that they have been cleared out of the mishandling, the star quarterback Joe Burrow has been ruled out for the remaining season at such a crucial time in the season. He sustained the grave injury in his right wrist in the second quarter of the week 11 game during a touchdown pass directed to the running back.

The four-year quarterback had to undergo a crucial surgery on November 27, to heal his torn ligament. Luckily, the surgery was successful, and the quarterback has been in recovery ever since.

The Bengals are currently at a 6-6 season record, while Burrow has been replaced by quarterback Jake Browning. In the relief of Burrow, Browning sure has impressed the Bengals fans and showed amazing chemistry with wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase.
