The Cincinnati Bengals quarterback suffered two losses on Thursday. First, they suffered a loss against their AFC North division rivals, the Baltimore Ravens in their week 11 matchup. In addition, they also lost their quarterback Joe Burrow, who reportedly suffered a season-ending injury in the crucial division game.

According to ESPN, an MRI showed Burrow suffered a torn ligament in his right hand wrist during the Bengals’ week 11 game on Thursday. The injury happened during the second quarter of the TNF game, just before he threw a 4-yard touchdown pass to his running back Joe Mixon.

The Bengals’ head coach Zac Taylor initially believed Burrow only suffered a wrist sprain. But now, it’s clear that Burrow suffered a much more serious injury and is out for the remainder of the season. He is likely to go through surgery on his throwing hand.

It's tough. You work so hard for seasons and moments like these. Whenever you get hurt and it ends early, it's tough to handle. That's a part of the game.
Burrow said, according to ESPN.

During the game, Burrow went down in pain after he was hit by the Ravens’ defensive end Jadeveon Clowney in the red zone. The Pro Bowl quarterback believes that’s where he suffered the injury. Burrow said he felt a pop in the middle of his wrist before throwing that 4-yard TD pass to Mixon.

On the sidelines, Burrow was seen trying to practice his throw, but he couldn’t even grip the ball due to the injury. He was immediately taken to the locker room and was ruled for the remainder of the game. And now, an MRI scan confirmed his injury and he will miss the rest of the ongoing season.

In his absence, second-string QB Jake Browning will take over as the starting QB of the Cincinnati-based football team. However, most experts believe that without Burrow, the Bengals season is as good as over.

On the sporting side, the Bengals would continue their season without Burrow under center for the rest of the season. They are currently holding a 5-5 record and are in a good spot to secure a wild-card berth in the postseason.
