The Cincinnati Bengals suffered a tragic 36-19 loss against the Green Bay Packers in their first preseason matchup on Friday. However, the Bengals do have some good news as their franchise quarterback Joe Burrow is seemingly making a good recovery after suffering an injury in Cincinnati’s training camp just a few weeks ago.
Before the Bengals’ preseason game, Burrow was seen involved in some light drills and had his first throwing session since he left the practice with a calf injury back on July 27. In a video posted by NFL Network reporter Bridget Condon, Burrow could be seen running and warming up his legs. That video has gone viral on social media, gathering over a million views within 12 hours.
Furthermore, in a separate video, Burrow could be seen throwing a couple of passes. This is the first throwing session Burrow has been involved in since his injury. As expected, the Bengals’ Pro Bowl quarterback is making good progress in his recovery and is likely to be the starting QB of the Cincinnati-based football team in their season opener against their AFC North division rivals Cleveland Browns next month.
Burrow suffered an injury back in July and had to be carted off the field during the Bengals’ training camp. Later, head coach Zac Taylor revealed that his quarterback suffered a calf injury and will miss the remainder of the training camp.
He is expected to make a full recovery without missing any time during the regular season. Still, the Bengals wideout Ja’Marr Chase has requested his friend and teammate to stay away from the field till his full recovery from the injury.

Zac Taylor gives an update on Joe Burrow’s injury
Just ahead of the Bengals’ preseason game against the Packers, Cincinnati fans received some good news as their star QB Joe Burrow partook in his first throwing session since his calf injury. After the game, HC Zac Taylor gave an update about the Pro Bowl QB’s recovery progress. “I think things are good and he’s progressing as he should,” said Taylor according to ESPN.
Following his throwing session, Burrow put on a cowboys hat and witnessed the action from the sidelines as the Bengals’ second and third stringers took on the Green Bay-based football team.
And now, all eyes will continue to be on Burrow and the defending AFC North Champions as one of the league’s top quarterbacks is making slow but steady progress on his recovery. The Bengals are set to take on the Atlanta Falcons in their second preseason game next Friday.
