Good news for the Cincinnati Bengals fans ahead of their first clash of the 2023 NFL season against the Cleveland Browns. The negotiations between the team and their quarterback, Joe Burrow, regarding the latter’s contract extension may come to an end before week one. He may get a new contract from the team and start a new venture with them.
Attending a press conference, the QB addressed the issue. He spoke about the negotiations between both parties. Burrow also stated that he wants to stay at the Bengals for his entire life. He wants to end his career at the Bengals and both parties are working to make things happen.
“This is where I want to be my whole career. We’re working towards making that happen. You see, what front office has done, Zac has done in his time here. I am small part of that–They have the best fans. This is where I wanna be,” Burrow said while addressing the media.
The last season was brilliant for the Bengals. They finished their season with a 12-4 record. In the beginning, the team lost their back-to-back encounters but quickly turned the tables and won 12 out of their 14 games. They made it to the playoffs and clinched the NFC North title for the second time in a row. They improved their winning streak as well. In 2021, the team finished with a record of 10-7. Last year, they bagged two more wins and three less losses.
Joe Burrow was pivotal in the brilliant performance of the Bengals last season. The 26-year-old QB had a fabulous display of football. He completed 414 passes and had a completion rate of 68.3%. He had a total of 606 attempts, 35 touchdowns, 12 interceptions, and 60 long attempts.
Joe Burrow is hopeful to start in Week 1

Apart from the contract extension, the Bengal fans have some other good news. Their favorite Burrow is set to recover from an injury he sustained in the team’s training session. He was subjected to a calf injury and soon carted off by the team’s medical staff. Later on, the team confirmed that the player had a calf strain and needed several weeks to recover. Hence, the star was absent from the preseason campaign.
In the press conference, the QB addressed his injury issue and said that he is trying hard to return to the field. “Just a lot of hard work to try and get healthy and get back,” he said. He also added that he is feeling better than earlier.
The Cincinnati Bengals will start their NFL 2023 season against the Cleveland Browns on September 9. It is to be seen whether Burrow comes back to the field.
