The Cleveland Browns’ promising season came to a devastating end on Saturday after they were dismantled by the Houston Texans in the Wild Card game. They came into the game with four wins in their last five games.
They achieved that feat with veteran QB Joe Flacco under center. The former Baltimore Ravens QB was fantastic for the Browns.
However, against the Texans, Flacco had his worst game of the season and, as a result of that, the Browns lost the game, 45-14. Flacco threw two back-to-back third quarter pick-6s, that blew the game open in favor of the Texans. Flacco talked about the game and getting an opportunity to play with the Browns this season.
I was so fortunate to become part of this team -- it's a special group. To be given a chance to do this with those guys, I'm super grateful for it. ... Stinks the way it ended. But it was a lot of fun and I'm grateful for the time that we had.Flacco said after the game
The 38-year-old QB threw for 307 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions during the game.
The Texans have advanced to the Divisional Round, whereas the Browns were eliminated from the postseason. It might have been Flacco’s last postseason game. He won Super Bowl MVP back in 2012 with the Ravens.
Joe Flacco talks about his game-changing third-quarter interceptions against the Texans
The Cleveland Browns lost their Wild Card game against the Houston Texans. It wasn’t a close game either, as the Browns were blown away by the Texans, 45-14. A major reason for the Browns’ loss was Joe Flacco’s two third-quarter pick-6s. It broke the game and the Texans never looked back after that.
Flacco talked about his interceptions and their impact on the game.
It’s definitely a shame the way it went down and hard to deal with at the moment--You're trying to throw a ball away, not trying to make a bad decision, but at the end of the day you have to be able to live with sacks. You have to realize that sometimes sacks aren't bad things.
Flacco played five regular season games this season and racked up 1,616 yards, 13 touchdowns, and 8 interceptions in those five games. It was a great run, but Flacco’s potential last playoff game ended in heartbreak.
