The Cleveland Browns sealed a playoff berth with a win over the New York Jets in week 17. They don’t have anything to play for in their final game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. As a result of that, the Browns are expected to rest several of their key players for their week 18 matchup, including the team’s QB Joe Flacco.

Flacco has been brilliant since becoming the team’s starter. He has played five games so far this season and has a 4-1 record in those games.

The former Super Bowl MVP was set to receive a $75,000 bonus, if he had played 50 percent of the offensive snaps on Sunday. But that might not happen if he gets rested for the game.

The Browns though, have decided to reward Flacco and have converted that into a roster bonus as he still gets the payday while resting up for the playoffs. They have complete faith in Flacco’s experience and ability to deliver in the postseason and have shown it by rewarding the veteran QB’s hard work this season.

They will be on the road to begin their postseason journey and will play the winner of AFC South. Flacco will hope to win another Super Bowl with the Browns this season and permanently etch his name into Cleveland sports history.

Stefanski said:

Joe, it’s the been there, done that. I mean, he’s been to the Super Bowl, won the Super Bowl. He’s been in those big moments. He doesn’t tell anybody that. I mean, the players know that. But in these games, when you’re in the huddle and you have a guy that you trust in those moments, I think it resonates with the offense, certainly, and probably with the team as well.
Kevin Stefanski told the reporters

Flacco has played five games this season for the Browns and has four of them. He has thrown for 1,616 yards, 13 touchdowns and 8 interceptions in those five games. The Browns will end their regular season against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.
