The Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon is not having a good off-season. Mixon is once again facing legal troubles for allegedly pointing a gun at a woman and threatening to shoot her.

This alleged incident happened on January 21, 2023, just one day before the Bengals defeated the Buffalo Bills in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs. Mixon is being accused of pointing a gun at a woman and saying, “You should be popped in the face. I should shoot you now. The police can get me.” A complaint was filed against the running back in Ohio’s Hamilton County.

Following the incident, an arrest warrant was issued against the Pro Bowl RB, but the charge was dismissed due to lack of evidence per reports. But now, after the “discovery of new evidence,” the 6’1″ running back Joe Mixon has been recharged with a criminal charge of aggravated menacing, a misdemeanor of the first degree according to the statement released by the Cincinnati police on Friday.

“This decision was reached following the discovery of new evidence during the investigative process,” the statement read. “To preserve a fair and impartial judicial process for all parties involved, no investigatory details or evidence will be disclosed outside of official court proceedings.”

The gun-pointing incident is one of the two noticeable legal troubles that Joe Mixon has faced in this off-season. In early March, the running back came under massive scrutiny after a teenager was shot by someone from Mixon’s backyard.

However, the cops have cleared Joe Mixon off the accusations and Lamonte Brewer, the boyfriend of Mixon’s sister, Shalonda, was indicted on one count of felonious assault. Mixon was seen on surveillance tapes carrying a gun, but he did not fire any shots according to the reports.

As for the misdemeanor charge, the Bengals have released a statement saying that they are aware of the charges and are currently further investigating the alleged incident. “The club is aware misdemeanor charges have been raised against Joe Mixon,” the Bengals said via Fox 19’s Jeremy Rauch. “The club is investigating the situation and will not comment further at this time.”

Nevertheless, Joe Mixon has been playing for the Bengals for the last six years. He is still under contract with the Cincinnati-based football team for two more years, but with legal issues mounting against the 26-year-old RB, it would be a wise decision to move on from him immediately.
