Jim Irsay has found himself in controversy after hiring Jeff Saturday as the new interim head coach for the Indianapolis Colts. Many people have criticized this decision as Saturday has no previous experience coaching an NFL side or a college football side.
Saturday’s hiring was pretty random, as many were left shocked after he got the job and asked about his credibility for the big role he is about to take.
Former NFL OT Joe Thomas was clearly furious and decided to hit back at owner Jim Irsay for one of the most disrespectful decisions in the league.
Joe Thomas pointed out that coaching an NFL side is a tough job and required complete focus and determination. It also requires extensive knowledge of the ball, something Jeff Saturday clearly lacks.
“When you hire your drinking buddy to be the head coach of an NFL football team, it is one of the most disrespectful things I’ve seen in my entire life, to the commitment, the lifestyle and the experience that it takes to be an NFL coach — any coach! — much less the head coach of the Indianapolis Football Colts!” Thomas said on NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football,” on Friday.

Joe Thomas believes Jeff Saturday is not qualified for the Colts’ HC role
Joe Thomas pointed out that coaching a football team is not easy as it takes up your time and requires commitment. Thomas tried to elaborate on the point by telling a story about Rob Chudzinski, who coached the Browns.
“This is something that changes your life when you decide to be a coach,” Thomas said. “It’s one of the reasons I don’t want to be a coach. I want to see my children. I want to have a life outside of football. When you’re a coach in the NFL, you don’t have a life outside of football.”
Joe is one of the best players ever to play the NFL, he represented Wisconsin in college football and the state has not been the same since he left, as per some legal sportsbooks in Wisconsin.
Jeff Saturday being hired as the new Colts HC has been unfair to all the people who’ve worked their whole life and gone through various struggles.
“You have got to be kidding me that this is something that Jim Irsay and Jeff Saturday, who’s not blameless for accepting the job could’ve talked about and decided this was the best thing for the Colts at this juncture of the season,” Joe Thomas stated.
The Colts are currently 2nd in their division and will face the undefeated Eagles in their next game. This will be a huge test for the new HC Jeff Saturday to prove his worth.
