Jalen Carter is a hard player to ignore. The Georgia Bulldogs DT is an amazing talent who is regarded as one of the best defensive players in this year’s draft. His huge potential guaranteed a top overall pick for him in this year’s edition of the NFL draft. However, Carter’s draft stock took a massive fall recently after his Pro Day performance.

There was also another controversy that helped his draft stock take a hit. Carter was involved in a drag racing event in January that led to the death of his teammate and the team’s staff member. Renowned analyst Joel Klatt recently held his own mock draft and boldly decided to push Jalen Carter at No.9 overall. Many believed that the DT would get drafted by either the Lions at No.6 or the Seahawks at No.5.

According to Klatt, Carter won’t fit in Detroit due to HC Dan Campbell’s mentality and the squad he would like to see develop. On the other hand, the Seahawks will pass on him due to ‘lots of red flags’.

“There are a lot of red flags with Jalen Carter. This process has not gone well for him,” Joel Klatt stated on the ‘Joel Klatt show’. “I don’t think Dan Campbell wants to take a flyer on the guy that might not be great in the locker room.”

The 2023 edition of the NFL draft is quite different from the others due to the massive potential of the players and the confusion surrounding it. Jalen Carter was ranked No.1 overall draft prospect before, but now he has safely moved out of the top 5.

His performance during the Pro day was abysmal and the 21-year-old DT showed up 9 pounds heavier. However, there are still teams in the league who are interested in acquiring him.

Carter has visits lined up with the Seattle Seahawks and the Las Vegas Raiders, while the Chicago Bears have also shown a keen interest in him. The Seahawks have the 5th overall pick, while the Raiders and the Bears have the 7th and 9th respectively.

Jalen Carter’s potential meeting with these teams has made it safe to assume that the Georgia Bulldogs DT will be drafted before the 10th overall pick in this year’s draft while having the potential to be the next NFL star.
