The Baltimore Ravens fans across the country heave a collective sigh of relief after hearing that their team would not move on from the star quarterback Lamar Jackson. Furthermore, their head coach John Harbaugh and general manager Eric DeCosta said that the Ravens’ front office is working on getting a long-term extension deal with Jackson.
The Louisville product missed the last five games of the 2022 NFL regular season due to a knee injury, which he suffered back in his week 13 matchup against the Denver Broncos. Moreover, Jackson also missed the playoff game against the Cincinnati Bengals due to the same knee injury. This is the second season that the quarterback has missed a stretch of important games due to his injuries.
And also, after their season ended in a playoff loss against their AFC North division rivals the Bengals, fans began to speculate that their franchise QB, who is a restricted free agent, will leave the team to go find a new home. However, their HC Harbaugh has assured the Ravens fans that Lamar Jackson is not going anywhere and will stay with the Ravens.
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Harbaugh was 200% positive that Jackson will stay with the Ravens. “One hundred percent, 200 percent. There’s no question about it,” the Ravens’ head coach said about his Quarterback.

“Lamar Jackson is our quarterback. He’s been our quarterback. Everything that we’ve done in terms of building our offense and building our team, how we think in terms of putting people around him is based on this incredible young man, his talent, his ability, and his competitiveness,” said Harbaugh on Thursday.
He also said that everyone in the Ravens front office wants Lamar to stay with the Ravens and, like all the fans, he’ll be saying prayers and hoping that the contract extension gets done soon.
“I love Lamar, Eric (general manager) loves Lamar, and it’s not gonna change in the future. I don’t know anything about the details or the whole thing, but I know one thing: I’m like all the fans out there and everybody else. I’ll have my fingers crossed, my toes crossed and I’ll be saying prayers. I have faith it’s gonna get done, and we’ve got the best people in the world doing it. … Eric wants him here, I want him here, Steve wants him here, and Lamar wants to be here. it’s gonna work out,” said Harbaugh.
Nevertheless, if the Ravens could not get the contract extension done within the next few weeks, they could still use the franchise tag on Lamar Jackson, which will buy some time for them to try and ink a long-term deal with Jackson.
