Orenthal James Simpson, more popularly known as O. J. Simpson, is an NFL legend who is widely considered one of the greatest running backs in the league. Simpson was involved with teams like the Buffalo Bills and the San Francisco 49ers.
O. J. Simpson is an NFL Hall of Famer and holds several records and accolades to his name. However, despite all the great numbers, Simpson didn’t win a single Super Bowl.
Simpson’s career was tarnished when he was accused of murdering his wife Nicole Brown, and her friend Ron Goldman. In the end, O. J. Simpson was acquitted by the jury and the trial was followed by millions. He was represented by lawyers Johnnie, Robert Shapiro, Robert Kardashian, F. Lee Bailey, and Carl Douglas.
John Salley sensationally claimed he knew O. J. Simpson was never guilty
In a flashback video posted by VladTV, former NBA player John Salley is seen talking about how well he knew O. J. Simpson. Salley was clear in his stance that those who know O.J. know he didn’t murder his wife.
“I know O.J., I know O.J. man. I’m gonna get into trouble. If you know O.J. you know he didn’t do it. If you know him, that’s it man. And people get upset when I say it,” John Salley said.
John Salley also believed Simpson served an unjustified time in jail for a crime that he didn’t even commit. Salley is referring to the Las Vegas robbery in 2007 wherein Simpson was accused of holding a man at gunpoint. Simpson was sentenced to 33 years in prison with eligibility for parole in nine years and on July 20, 2017, Simpson was granted parole.
“They put O.J. in jail for almost twenty years and they call it raqueteering. The guys who actually held the guns had to serve no time since all they had to do is say O.J. told me to bring the gun. He didn’t touch anybody, he didn’t pull a gun on anybody, he didn’t do any of that.”
O. J. Simpson is recently in the news after Augustus Lymon posted a video on his Instagram account called rareclothapparel about Simpson’s thoughts on Jay-Z’s song “The Story of O.J.”
“Well, first of all, [Jay-Z] didn’t say it right,” Simpson said. “When Johnnie [Cochran] was talking to me about it, and all that was going on was ‘Black, Black, Black,’ I said Man, f**k being Black, this is me. This is about O.J. You know?” He further continued, “It wasn’t about Black or White. It was about, ‘These guys were after me. So that’s how that was expressed. It wasn’t about, you know, ‘I’m not Black.’ It was about, this ain’t about being Black, this is about me.”
