They say the morning shows the day, but for Johnny Manziel, it showed how to party like it was never tomorrow. His colorful and troubled tenure will go down in the history of football as one of the top five wasted potentials. The recent Netflix documentary sheds light on the week leading up to the NFL combined.

The latest addition to the ‘Untold’ series showcases Manziel’s time at Texas A&M. Everything kicked off in 2012 with him beating the Alabama Crimson Tide and even winning the Heisman Trophy. He received a call from Johnny to let him know that he had messed up. He was completely unaware of where he was when he opened his eyes. Burkhardt devised a plan that would have helped save his client from the test. He asked Johnny Manziel’s father to fake a heart condition. “His dad faked a heart attack so he could leave the Combine early,” Burkhardt revealed. Moreover, there was a high possibility that the Houston Texans would be gunning for Manziel. However, a video of him partying appeared out of nowhere, and they backed off. Eventually, he ended up with the Cleveland Browns.

Well, the story did not end with that. Manziel’s shenanigans even continued at the Browns facility. After drafting him as their 22nd pick, the Browns were looking forward to a resurgence. They were going through a difficult phase after constantly finishing in the bottom half of the AFC North since 2008. However, Manziel did not have the care of the world; as he once said, nobody could stop him from partying. That’s exactly what he did before practice one day. He went a bit too hard with his wide receivers, and they were out. The next day, when the coaches came for training, they found Manziel throwing balls to Erik Burkhardt, his agent.

“One of the receivers is missing,” Burkhardt revealed on ‘Untold.’ “This other receiver’s drunk. The Browns walk into the facility. He (Johnny Manziel) warming up. They’re like, ‘Where are the receivers?’ And Johnny goes, ‘Ah, we’re good.” ‘Untold’ is currently running on Netflix. The reviews have been mixed so far. Many were hoping to see Johnny Manziel’s NFL career, but it mainly focuses on his college days.
