Jonathan Owens is an established safety in the NFL who plays for the Houston Texans. The 27-year-old has been in a relationship with American Gymnast Simone Biles for quite some time now.

The couple even announced their engagement in 2022 and got their marriage license quite recently. The NFL power couple has supported each other time and time again. Simone is often seen at Owens football games. On the other hand, the Texans safety has also been there to support her girlfriend through the Olympics and other competitions.

Simone is often regarded as the best American Gymnast and has always been a regular in the Olympics. Her boyfriend Jonathan is also an established NFL player. Therefore, the couple is quite well-versed in the pressure of performing every single time while the whole world watches.

During the Tokyo Olympics, Owens saw Biles walk off after having a disappointing attempt. As Simone was going back to talk to her coach, the 27-year-old started feeling ‘sick in his stomach’. Owens shared the whole ordeal with the reporters and stated why he was feeling sick after watching her girlfriend fail on the biggest stage of world gymnastics.

“I was sick for her, just because I can see her face, I kind of know her facial expressions, I can kind of read her lips and kind of know what was going on and kind of what she was telling her coach,” Jonathan Owens stated to the reporters. “So I was sick to my stomach because she wasn’t able to go out there.”

Jonathan Owens supported Simone Biles’ decision to choose mental peace over gold medals

Simone Biles decided to withdraw from the team finals during the Tokyo Olympics except for the balance beam, in which she later went on to win the Bronze medal.

Jonathan Owens has supported her now fiance every single time and was proud of her when she chose mental peace over the conquest of winning new medals.

“It was hard for me to really understand what she was going through because I’m not on that stage and dealing with those pressures and everything, but I just try to be as understanding as possible,” Owens answered about his support.

Simone Biles stepped off the sport while still being the best. Since then, she has become a prime example to people and inspires them to choose their mental and physical health over everything else. Jonathan Owens and Simone got engaged on Valentine’s Day and will soon get married to start a new life together.
