Jonathan Taylor is close to getting his wish of a new challenge, as the Philadelphia Eagles are reportedly “among the most aggressive trade suitors” for the running back. He has been allowed to look for a new home by the Indianapolis Colts.
Taylor is seemingly unhappy with the contract situation and wants out. However, the Colts have set a deadline until next Tuesday to not only talk with other franchises but also sign for his new employer. But why Tuesday? Because the NFL franchises need to finalize their 53-man squad for the upcoming season.
As per sources, several teams have inquired about his services since news broke of his intentions to trade. The Eagles may quite possibly be ahead of the pack as they look to add another proven NFL player to their star-studded offense. The ‘rumors’ originated from the site NFLAnalysis.net. It claims “the Eagles have been among the most aggressive trade suitors for Taylor since he was allowed to search for a trade. Furthermore, their interest does not lie only in Taylor; he is their number one choice.
Since the news broke, fans have been baffled that another talented player would land in Philadelphia. Not to mention, Taylor could even become the starter if the medical staff gave him the green signal.

Fans believe Jonathan Taylor’s trade to the Philadelphia Eagles is a scary prospect
The Eagles are undeniably one of the favorites to win not just the NFC title but also push for the Super Bowl. With Jalen Hurts seeking redemption for last season’s failure in the final game, it’s no surprise that Howie Rosman is looking to build a squad full of champions. If he does decide to give Jonathan Taylor a contract then it will only increase their chances even more. No wonder social media especially the Eagles fans are looking forward to some positive news.
Rosman may indeed be a genius if he manages to pull the deal off. Considering the Eagles don’t have much salary cap, it will be challenging. On top of that, their running back room is stacked, but there are few ifs and buts in the department.
Kenny Gainwell performed amicably during last season’s playoff run, but Nick Siriani will not consider him his number-one choice. Next is Boston Scott, who, to his credit, does come good when required. Then there is D’Andre Swift, whose fans have been drooling over since the first preseason game. Trey Sermon could be an option after a good second preseason game, but hopes of him starting are slim to none. So Taylor’s admission would be a welcome addition.
However, the Wisconsin graduate will have a tough time raising his ask because Rosman may not entertain him. Taylor would most definitely want a double his current $4.3 million valuation. But he has to keep in mind that recent history hasn’t been kind to the running backs. Jonathan Taylor, in his three seasons with the Indianapolis Colts, rushed for 3841 yards in 43 games and scored 33 touchdowns. He also received 802 yards with 104 receptions.
