There are a lot of controversies doing rounds about Jason Kelce’s retirement from the NFL. After the exit of the Philadelphia Eagles in the wildcard round, Kelce was seen in tears. It was assumed that he had played his last game for the team. Multiple sources cited that Kelce, who is 37 now, would not return to the league.
However, with time, some questions were raised regarding his comeback in the league. Since the center did not announce his retirement officially, people thought he would come back in the next season. However, Jordan Mailata, the tackle of the Philadelphia Eagles, clearly refuted the situation of Jason Kelce coming back.
There's no shot. You’re telling me he’s going shirts off in the games, gambling in the casinos, he’s coming back? No way. He’s having too much fun. He’s out there living his life. And I’m going to miss him for sure, man. This has been the greatest six years of my life for sure, being here in the NFL and getting to meet people like Jason Kelce.Mailata said.
Jason Kelce was indeed seen doing a lot of things after the team had their exit in the playoffs. He enjoyed every game with his brother Travis. He cheered actively for his brother and the Kansas City Chiefs. He even went shirtless at one of the playoff games and cheered with all his strength. In addition, he got drunk and celebrated with glasses of beer. All these things indicated that Kelce’s return would be very difficult.
However, Kelce has not opened himself up regarding his decision to come back. He has also not spoken explicitly about his retirement planning. The silence on the issue has created some confusion.

Famous radio announcer wants Kelce to retire
Not only the left tackle Mailata, but radio announcer Merril Reese also claimed that the center should not come back to football, next season. In a program on 94WIP, the radio analyst stated that Kelce had gone through a lot of physical struggles and he does not want him to go through more.
“There is only so much pounding you can take without causing later problems. And you know how many times he leaves a game and you think, ‘Well he’s out of this game.’ And then after halftime he leads the team back onto the field,” the commentator added.
If Kelce does not make it, Nick Sirianni has some backup plans. The Eagles signed Cam Jurgens earlier. He could become the replacement for the center in the next season.
