Josh Allen was experiencing a tough time by his high standards, too, against the New York Giants, who have only tasted victory once all season. Giant’s defense was running rings around the Buffalo Bills quarterback throughout the game. But when linebacker Bobby Okereke tried to get in the mix of a short scuffle, Allen was having none of it.

Even before a ball was kicked at Orchard Park fans, they knew that the Bills were the clear favorites to get another win. However, two uneventful quarters only saw the Giants score a couple of field goals. At halftime, the electrifying atmosphere has died down a bit.

It rose back up when the two sets of players almost got into a brawl. Giants defensive end Leonard Williams pushed Bills defensive tackle Spencer Brown into the ground. Okereke tried to stop it from further escalating, but in came Josh Allen, who smashed into him headfirst.

Those two were witnessing a night. Moments before the Giants’ pass rusher pushed the two-time Pro Bowler down, he was taken to the blue tent for a checkup. Allen missed only a couple of plays before returning to the field. Okereke was called for a phantom roughing the passer penalty.

Bills managed to make any kind of meaningful contribution when Allen found Deonte Harty on a short touchdown pass to cap a 17-play, 89-yard drive. This 10-minute play looked like it would open the floodgates for the home team, but the visitors’ defense did not allow it.

Bobby Okereke alone forced two fumbles in the game. In the first quarter, he tackled Bills Gabe Davies as the ball slipped out of his hand and was recovered by Micah McFadden. It was more of the same for the next one as well. In the second half, Okereke deflected a Josh Allen pass to McFadden, who came in to clean up the play and get the interception.

The 27-year-old, who had barely kicked a football in the NFL, almost produced a match-winning performance. Okereke recorded 11 (eight solo) tackles, two tackles for loss, and two passes defended on the night.

In all honesty, the game could have gone in favor of the Giants late in the game. Match officials missed pass interference on Giants tight end Darren Waller from Bills cornerback Taron Johnson.

Allen, on the other hand, was only limited to throwing 169 yards. He completed just 19 passes and two touchdowns. Also carried the ball twice for 11 yards.
