The Buffalo Bills have become the talk of the NFL town throughout the offseason due to their internal problems. Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs has made his displeasure known about his importance within the franchise in regard to offensive plays being conducted by quarterback Josh Allen.
It all started this season with Stefon Diggs‘ absence from the first day of mandatory minicamp. The Bills quarterback downplayed any rift within the team during his latest appearance on the Bussin’ with the Boys podcast, claiming that the media created stories exaggerating the situation with the 29-year-old wide receiver.
Josh Allen professed his love for Diggs yet again and revealed that the Bills are trying to resolve the situation through diplomatic talks with Diggs. He also urged the media to not create unnecessary stories about their off-field issues.
“I love him. That’s my guy. The media has blown this so far out of proportion. We are in minicamp. We’re not playing a game for four months. He doesn’t show up for one day. He’s still there, coach asked him to go home, and they’re in talks, trying to resolve some things. They’re still talking about it. Let it go. There’s no reason to continue talking about it,” Allen said on the controversy surrounding Diggs.
Stefon Diggs’ apparent problems with Josh Allen started during Bills’ divisional round playoffs defeat against Bengals
However, the actual facts of the matter are that the stories surrounding Diggs were not mere speculations, most of them started after Bills head coach Sean McDermott became “very concerned” following Diggs’ no-show on the first day of training. Fans have not taken Allen’s recent comments lightly trolling the quarterback for blaming the media. Check out a few comments on Twitter below:
The indifference between Stefon Diggs and Josh Allen became evident to the public eye last season during the Bills’ 10-27 defeat against the Cincinnati Bengals in the divisional round playoff game. After the defeat, Diggs was furious with quarterback Josh Allen for not involving him enough throughout the game.
Diggs was spotted having a go at Josh Allen while the latter was reflecting on the defeat. Various sources close to the Bills also revealed that Diggs “stormed off the locker room” following the gut-wrenching defeat and had to be stopped by one of the coaches for the head coach’s address to the team.
Josh Allen and the Bills fans would be somewhat happy given that Diggs has attended practice regularly after his one-day absence. Stefon Diggs will be an integral part of the Bills’ offense in the upcoming season and they need to find a way where he feels more comfortable with his role.
