“So trash EA took him off the cover!” – Josh Allen getting replaced by Mike Vick on Madden 24’s cover instigates bizarre reactions on social media
Madden players were shocked to find out Josh Allen was no longer on the game's cover.

Josh Allen‘s season has been the greatest so far, which has led many to speculate that the Madden curse has ensnared another victim. The Buffalo Bills are currently sitting with a 5-5 record and mathematically still have a chance of playing post-season football.
They will start fresh with Joe Brady as the offensive coordinator after Ken Dorsey was fired just a couple of days after losing to the Denver Broncos. It was done in light of Allen’s woeful record of throwing picks. He leads the league with 11 interceptions (passed Patriots’ Mac Jones). This has created doubt among football fans about whether the two-time Pro Bowler is absolutely elite or not.
Allen’s credibility was dealt another blow when NFL fans discovered something on Saturday while playing Madden 24. They noticed that the cover of the EA game has changed from Josh Allen to former Atlanta Falcons quarterback, Michael Vick.
Now, for those unaware, when a season ends, the cover automatically changes. EA added this feature a while back, but it continues to take players by surprise.
Josh Allen has had a mixed bag 2023 season
When Josh Allen is on song, the Bills are one of the best teams in the NFL. His dynamic approach to the game always brings out the players around him. He currently leads the league in throwing touchdown passes with 19 in 10 games. Not only that, he ranks second (13) only behind Eagles Jalen Hurts (20) when it comes to scoring using his feet since 2022.
So doubting his impact on games is foolish. But one cannot look away from the fact that the bills are gravely lacking in red zone conversion. Sean McDermott‘s side only took away chances 68.5% of the time they reached the 20-yard line. However, the situation has worsened in the last few weeks. The percentage has dropped to 55.6% in losses against the Bengals and the Broncos.
The department in which the bills are sorely lacking is wide receiver. They have very capable players in the shape of Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis. But neither has come alive this season. Although Diggs is on course for another 1,000-yard season, at times he disappears from the field of play. Now that’s both down to Allen not being able to connect with him. As the season slides into the business end, every game counts. Buffalo’s next opponents are AFC East rivals the New York Jets.
