‘Birth of a hero!’ This is how the debut of Josh Dobbs, the newly picked quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings, can be explained. The Vikings traded him from the Arizona Cardinals this trading season to replace Kirk Cousins, their regular quarterback who was ruled out due to an injury. Dobbs made his debut against the Atlanta Falcons, covered 158 yards of passing, and had two touchdowns. His efforts had a pivotal role in helping the team to emerge victorious.

After the win, Dobbs had a grand welcome in the team’s dressing room. A short video went viral where Dobbs was spotted receiving congratulations from his teammates. His teammates roared as soon as Dobbs entered the room. It reflected that the team was looking for a victory and Dobbs earned them that. The coach shared some blood-boiling words with his fellow players. The video caught his words.

The Vikings are in a better place now. They won two consecutive games. Their last victory came against the Packers in a game which they dominated. The margin was 24-10. However, this game was an exception. The Vikings had to fight till the end to register a win with the slightest 31-28 margin. Tough battles occurred in all quarters and in the end, the Vikings emerged victorious.

With five wins and four losses in nine games, the Vikings are now standing second in the NFC North group. After two games, they are in a much better position compared to the way they started.

Dobbs had a redemption; Silenced his critics in the very first game

Josh Dobbs had a decent game against the Falcons. He stunned everyone who doubted him as a replacement for Kirk Cousins. There were reasons to doubt and those reasons lay in the stats that both players shared. Cousins, despite failing to take his team to the winning path, had a brilliant individual record this season. In just seven games, he covered 2,338 yards of passing with 18 touchdowns. Cousins had his impact before getting an injury.

When it comes to Dobbs, no one expected him to replace Cousins. He had only 12 touchdowns and almost as many interceptions in his career. Additionally, he didn’t succeed with the Steelers, Titans, or Cardinals. Since his debut in 2018, he changed teams three times. These factors concerned analysts before he took Cousins’ position. However, Dobbs proved them wrong with his initial performance for the Minnesota Vikings. Now, we’ll see how he does in the rest of the season.
