Josh McDaniels‘ time at Denver Broncos as head coach may have been short-lived, but it sure brought some quite interesting personnel decisions for the team. As he recently got fired from the Las Vegas Raiders, many of those personnel decisions have unfolded. All thanks to Broncos former tight end Nate Jackson, who legit dropped a bombshell on McDaniels in his latest article.

Among the many, one that made quite the headlines back in 2009 was when he traded quarterback Jay Cutler to the Chicago Bears in exchange for Kyle Orton and draft picks. But based on Culter’s career graph, that wasn’t such a bad move.

Though the Broncos had a 6-0 in the first year under coach McDaniels, that wasn’t it. Jackson revealed behind-the-scenes of McDaniels where he used to treat the players as children and offered them promising rewards if they joined the practice squad.

Moving forward, the former NFL tight end pen down how McDaniels felt threatened by skilled offensive players like Culter, Tony Scheffler, and Brandon Marshall. It was because they emerged as star players under head coach Mike Shanahan, who led the team to two Super Bowl victories.

Jackson even wrote what the coach said after trading Culter:

Fellas, don’t worry about the quarterback situation. I can turn a high school quarterback into an All-Pro.

However these were just the toppings, things got worse when McDaniels traded Peyton Hillis to the Browns, for QB Brady Quinn, who was later replaced by Tim Tebow a quarterback that the coach never even used. The most bizarre part was McDaniels traded him because his wife was attracted to Hillis, according to rumours.

Both Culter and Hillis had a promising career with the Broncos, but McDaniels traded them away as soon as he took over. That too, for the most unconventional reasons and motives behind it.

How Josh McDaniels repeated the same thing with the Raiders, but worse?

After the whole shenanigans with the Broncos, McDaniels didn’t change with the Raiders, in fact, it went even lower there. Under him, the Raiders missed out on a 20-point lead against the Cardinals, last season that marked the highest in the history of the Raiders.

They repeated it a few weeks later, against the Rams, giving away a two-digit lead. The team’s two days’ Baker Mayfield couldn’t even have a proper practice session with the Raiders.

Because of these reasons and many more, the Raiders didn’t think twice before firing McDaniels even though they suffered a loss of $40 million. With all records and mischiefs unfolding in front of the whole world, it can probably be a career over for the coach.
