The expectations are sky-high for the New York Jets after they acquired Aaron Rodgers via a trade with the Green Bay Packers in the 2023 off-season. Experts expect the Jets to compete for the Super Bowl title in the upcoming season and Rodgers is expected to find back his MVP form. However, Fox Sports analyst Joy Taylor believes Rodgers won’t be returning to his MVP form.

“At the end of the day, it’s gonna come down to the elite of the elite who are actually at the top and realistically in the MVP conversation, I don’t think we’re gonna see that for multiple reasons from Aaron Rodgers this year,” said Joy Taylor in a recent episode of the Fox Sports show SPEAK.

Davante Adams is not walking through that door, he’s not and I don’t care what people say, Davante Adams was a massive part of those MVP years. He is no longer playing in the NFC North, he is now in the AFC East, you are not walking through this division, you’re just not, it’s going to be harder for you this year, even with the talent you have with the Jets.”

As Joy Taylor mentioned, Rodgers will be moving to a tougher AFC East division which is filled with killer opponents. The Buffalo Bills led by Josh Allen, and the Miami Dolphins led by Tua Tagovailoa are both competing for the Super Bowl. The reaming other team the New England Patriots is coached by Bill Belichick and boasts a top 5 defense in the NFL.

So, it will be really tough for the 39-year-old QB Aaron Rodgers to perform at a high level and lead the NY Jets to an AFC East division title. However, the Jets still have a strong supporting cast for the 10-time Pro Bowl QB Rodgers and they certainly have an outside shot at winning the whole thing at the end of the season.

Aaron Rodgers’ Jets move is being compared to Tom Brady’s move to the Bucs

The 4-time league MVP Aaron Rodgers joining the New York Jets at the later stages of his career is being compared to Tom Brady’s move to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers back in 2020.

Brady left New England to join the Bucs back in 2020 and led them to a Super Bowl victory in his first season with the Tampa Bay-based football team.

However, Rodgers’ situation is slightly different. He is moving to a tougher division and conference but will also have a better supporting cast around him.

Unlike Brady, Rodgers is going to a team that could be considered a Super Bowl contender under many other QBs. In brief, it is highly unlikely Rodgers could repeat Tom Brady‘s 2020 success with the Jets in the upcoming season.
