The New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is known as a party guy around the league. Recently, his former teammate Jake Bequette revealed a story about how the tight end used to party all night before passing out in the Patriots facility during the off-season. However, another former Patriot Julian Edelman has dismissed that story by calling it totally fake.
“Story is BS. Everyone wants to paint Gronk as a party animal. When in reality he was one of the most dedicated teammates I had,” Edelman posted on Twitter after the story about Rob Gronkowski passing out in the Pats facility went viral on social media.
The alleged fake story was cooked by the former Patriots defensive end, Jake Bequette. He recently made an appearance on the ‘Prime Time with Alex Stein’ podcast where he claimed that, “During the offseason, Gronk would go out all night with his boys in Boston. Stay up till three or four in the morning, whatever it was, and have his crew drop him off at the Patriots facility.”
After his story went on viral online, Julian Edelman had to jump in and back his long-time teammate. Nonetheless, Gronk is indeed known as a party animal around the NFL. During his college football recruiting days, the 4-time All-Pro tight end once infamously showed up to an Arizona game seemingly completely wasted.
But the talented tight end undeniably had one of the greatest careers in the league’s history. He has won four Super Bowl rings and is in the conversation for the greatest TE of all time. Unlike most modern tight ends, Gronkowski excelled as both a blocking tight end and a pass-catching TE.

Julian Edelman and Rob Gronkowski played a huge role in the Patriots dynasty

The New England Patriots were the most recent great dynasty in the NFL. They dominated the league for nearly two decades while winning six Super Bowl championships.
The former Pats QB Tom Brady and the ingenious head coach Bill Belichick were the main reason for the franchise’s success over the years, but they had the help of several talented players, including WR Julian Edelman and Rob Gronkowski.
The dominant tight end was the favorite target of the 15-time Pro Bowl QB Brady while Edelman played at his best during the postseason. Edelman even won a Super Bowl MVP for his remarkable performance in Super Bowl 53.
Now, Gronkowski and Edelman have both retired from the sport and are focused on their post-retirement life. Gronk occasionally works as a sports analyst for Fox Network after his retirement.
