Justin Fields had a gala time on the gridiron finally. He had a great game against the Atlanta Falcons with 268 yards covered and a touchdown. With the performance, Fields ensured a victory for the Chicago Bears, who have struggled throughout the season. The team has only registered seven wins in 16 games. They are presently standing at the last in the NFC North division.
Despite suffering a poor season, the team can celebrate some special nights. Against the Falcons, it was a night like that. Justin Fields had a great game and probably for the first time in the league, the fans appreciated and cheered “We want Fields’.
Charmed by the support from the crowd, Fields expressed his gratitude post-game. He said it was a moment that he would remember for the rest of his life.
This city is amazing. I have told it plenty of times that this city, the people the fanbase are amazing. Last home game and you could not have any better snowing. Everything is awesome. The crowd, how we ended things. How we finished the game. I am going to remember this for the rest of my life.
In addition to this, the QB also had high praise for the wide receiver D.J. Moore and threw light on how the latter helped him throughout the game.
Justin Fields is aware of his situation with the Bears
While 2023 is probably his best season in the league, Fields knows that he might not be a Bears player anymore because of how things have turned out, considering the high expectations the franchise had on him. The QB has registered 16 touchdowns and nine interceptions.
Moreover, he has failed to give the necessary momentum to the Bears in the season. His performance has dragged continuous criticism from the fans and the analysts.
With all these, the Bears QB has not put a bet on himself. He knows that the situation might not persist him for another season. His voice reflected that uncertainly.
But the fans wanted him. That was the sole reason they chanted “We want Fields…” It might be the final gratitude for a player whose effort did not click. Who knows this late resurgence in form and fans improved hopes from him might just do well for him and his future with Chicago.
