The Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields will be entering his third year in the NFL. He is currently one of the best young quarterbacks in the league and is expected to have a breakout year in the upcoming season. Amidst this, some people over-hyping the dual-threat signal-caller on social media has flabbergasted NFL fans.
Recently, a social media account named ‘NFL Notifications’ on X (previously known as Twitter) posted a list of top NFC quarterbacks. The list went Jalen Hurts, Justin Fields, Kirk Cousins, Matthew Stafford, Jared Goff, Kyler Murray, Dak Prescott, Derek Carr, Brock Purdy, and Bryce Young in that particular order.
NFL fans on social media had a lot of issues regarding this list. But most people took issue with the Bears’ young leader Justin Fields getting ranked ahead of veteran signal-callers like Kirk Cousins, Matthew Stafford, Kyler Murray, and the Dallas Cowboys quarterback Prescott. Besides, some people also had issues with the list missing some notable names, including Daniel Jones and the 2022 Comeback Player of the Year winner Geno Smith.
Fields was drafted in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft by the Chicago-based football team. He sat behind the veteran QB Andy Dalton for a few weeks during his rookie campaign before eventually taking over the starting QB role in Chicago. In 2021, Fields registered 1870 passing yards, 7 touchdowns while throwing 10 interceptions. Fields also had one of the worst completion percentages (58.9%) in the league in his rookie season.
Furthermore, during his second-year Fields showed a bit of improvement in his game as he registered 3385 total yards and 25 total touchdowns. He finished 9th in the league MVP voting for the 2022 season.

Social media can’t believe the Justin Fields hype

NFL fans on social media were bamboozled by the Bears player Justin Fields, getting ranked ahead of some top quarterbacks in the league. Fans called out the account that posted the list and accused them of purposefully posting a bad list to get more interactions. Furthermore, some New York Giants fans were upset that the list didn’t feature Daniel Jones at all. Check out some of the reactions below.
Nonetheless, Fields is expected to have a breakout season similar to the one Jalen Hurts had in 2022. The Bears have invested in the offensive line and has added wide receiver D. J. Moore in the off-season to help out Fields in the passing game. He might end up having a big season if he can stay healthy for the entire season.
