Justin Jefferson was one of the few good things going for the Minnesota Vikings this season. Last year’s leader in receiving yards, he had a tremendous start to this season as well, with 500 receiving yards in just the first five games. However, there is sad news for the Vikings fans as Jefferson has been placed on the injury reserve list. He is expected to miss at least four games due to a hamstring injury.

Jefferson, the reigning Offensive Player of the Year, will likely return on November 12 against the New Orleans Saints. The Vikings have started the season 1-4 and, with Jefferson, expected to miss many games going forward. It puts the Vikings in deep trouble. Jefferson is their best player, and with him sidelined, it will be tough for the Vikings to turn around their season and make a playoff push.

Jefferson finished the 2022 regular season, leading the NFL in receptions (128) and receiving yards (1,809) en route to winning the OPOY. He was an MVP finalist as well. Jefferson was a major reason for the Vikings’ successful campaign last season. Although they eventually lost to the New York Giants in the Wild Card Round last year, Jefferson led the Minnesota-based team to a 13-4 record.

The Vikings lost their week 5 game against the defending Super Bowl champions, the Kansas City Chiefs. They will play the Chicago Bears in their next game on Sunday. They will be favored in that matchup, but with Jefferson out, winning that game could prove a bit difficult.

Justin Jefferson, the best player of the Minnesota Vikings, has been placed on IR due to an apparent hamstring injury. He is expected to miss a significant amount of time because of the injury. The Vikings are 1-4 through five weeks, and winning will become more difficult without Jefferson.
