Last year was massive for the Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson, who broke multiple receiving records and ended up winning the 2022 Offensive Player of the Year award. However, he had a very bad outing in one particular game. Back in January, Jefferson had a bad game against the Green Bay Packers and was trolled by Jaire Alexander, which started a feud between the two athletes.
And now, more than seven months after that game, Justin Jefferson has reignited the feud with the Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander. “Nobody’s really worried about him. It just goes to show you the amount of attention that he was trying to give me. You can’t call a 180-yarder a fluke. That’s something that’s not a fluke, you can’t just walk up on 180 yards in the NFL,” said Jefferson in an interview with the CBS Sports‘ reporter Zach Aldridge.
During the 2022 season, the Vikings’ All-Pro receiver Jefferson started his campaign with a bang as he registered 184 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns in week 1. When the two teams met again towards the end of the season, Alexander started the feud by calling Jefferson’s week 1 performance a fluke.
In their second meeting, Alexander and the Packers’ defense held Jefferson to just 1 reception and 15 receiving yards. Moreover, during the game, Alexander disrespected Jefferson by hitting the griddy in front of the Vikings receiver after breaking up a pass. The Packers didn’t make it to the postseason and the Vikings were eliminated in the second round of the playoffs.
The AFC North division rivals, the Vikings and the Green Bay-based football team, are scheduled to face each other two times in the 2023 season. This Alexander-Jefferson feud has added some buzz to the games.
