When Travis Kelce revealed that he had Justin Timberlake’s contact number on his phone, he wasn’t joking. During Timberlake’s recent appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Falon, the Grammy-winning singer spilled the beans on how the two met.

While most will try to connect the dots and come to the conclusion that the two met through Taylor Swift, unfortunately, for the ‘swifties’, that’s not the case on this occasion. Their first encounter took place on the golf course.

Falon brought up the fated meeting after he chest bumped with Timberlake before the start of the show. He then recalled playing golf with Kelce and Patrick Mahomes, along with Timberlake, during the 2022 American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament in Nevada.

When Falon managed to put the ball into the hole/cup from a sandpit, it was such a feat that not only his teammates but also the opposition were cheering loudly. Falon said they were celebrating, and Kelce lifted him up in the air.

Timberlake chimed in

It wasn’t the best course of action on the 42-year-old’s part. In the rush of the moment, he forgot that Kelce was a massive dude. All 6 feet 5 and 113 pounds. When someone that big goes full force, the receiver (no pun intended) must brace themselves.

Timberlake did not, and he went toppling down due to the Kansas City Chiefs tight ends’ sheer force and ended up heads-on toward the ground. Quite the comic relief. And when someone questions him about what’s wrong with his neck, he only has one name: Travis Kelce.

The AFC Championship game beckons

While Justin Timberlake is about to release his first single in five years on TV, Kelce is busy preparing for the AFC Championship game. The Chiefs will face the tough challenge of the Baltimore Ravens, and to make matters worse, they have to travel to Baltimore.

For once, the Chiefs will go into the game as the underdogs. According to the SportsLine Sportsbook betting site, the Baltimore Ravens are four-point favorites to reach their first Super Bowl since 2013.
