The odds of the Kansas City Chiefs winning their Divisional Round game against the Buffalo Bills at Highmark Stadium just went up tenfold. The primary reason being Kadarius Toney, the wide receiver of the team, has been ruled out to play on Sunday, owing to hip and ankle injuries, as per Adam Schefter. The playoff game will be his fifth straight game that he will miss a chance to have a revenge game and redeem himself after the blunder he had made against the Bills in the regular season.

The last time Kansas City played the Buffalo Bills, Kadarius Toney ended up costing his team the game. The score was 20-17 in Week 14, Patrick Mahomes came up clutch when he threw the ball to Travis Kelce who then ran all the way up to the 20 before throwing a lateral to Kadarius Toney. The play ultimately ended with Toney reaching the endzone but it did not count because the wideout had lined up offsides.

That mistake cost the team the game. This season has been rough for Kadarius Toney. He has managed to record just 169 yards on 27 catches and just 1 touchdown. He has come up short on a few occasions when the team was relying on him to contribute more by stepping up the plate.

Fans have been trolling Kadarius Toney all season long for not stepping up

This season, he was supposed to step up the most. Patrick Mahomes has been struggling all year long due to lack of depth on his receiving core. Rashee Rice, the rookie, will now have to ensure he shows up to play on Sunday when the Chiefs play the Bills.

In addition to Toney, the team added Charles Omenihu to their injury report with an illness and Willie Gay as questionable with a neck injury.

After the source revealed that Toney would not be a part of the Divisional game, here’s how fans reacted:

This Divisional Round game is an important one as it marks the first time Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs will be going on the Road in the playoffs. So far, Mahomes has managed to beat Josh Allen both the times the teams have faced off in the playoffs but this time, the leverage rests with the Bills.
