The Kansas City Chiefs are facing off against the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship game. It is the Chiefs’ sixth successive conference championship game. All of the Chiefs’ players have had a good season this year, except for WR Kadarius Toney. The former New York Giants receiver had a disappointing season and found himself out of the rotation come playoff time.

The wide receiver has been ruled out with what the team says is a hip injury. Simultaneously, the Chiefs announced on Saturday that he would miss the game for “personal reasons.” However, something didn’t feel quite right about it all, particularly when the team announced a day later that he would miss because of the injury as well as the birth of his child.

On Sunday, Toney went on an obscenity-filled rant on Instagram Live, accusing the Chiefs of misrepresenting his hip injury. Toney said on his Instagram Live:

Sunday afternoon’s game between the Chiefs and the Ravens began at 3 p.m. Eastern Time, with CBS hosting the AFC Championship Game. The winner of this game will take on the winner of the NFC Championship game between the San Francisco 49ers and the Detroit Lions in the Super Bowl on Sunday, February 11.

The Kansas City Chiefs’ WR Kadarius Toney had a lot of speculations surrounding his availability for the AFC Championship game against the Baltimore Ravens. The wide receiver was listed by Kansas City as doubtful for the AFC Championship game against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. Kansas City then downgraded Toney’s game status to out on Saturday and modified his injury description to “hip/personal” using their official X account.

The former first-round pick will be inactive for the sixth straight Chiefs game tonight. Immediately after the announcement, rumors circulated about how the word “personal” was connected to Toney’s present circumstances. ESPN reporter James Palmer solved the mystery on Saturday night. Toney just welcomed a baby girl.

Toney has had a difficult season. He has been responsible for a lot of drops this year and that has affected the Chiefs’ once-vaunted offense. He did not play against the Buffalo Bills in Kansas City’s Divisional Round win last Sunday.
