The Kansas City Chiefs WR Kadarius Toney had his worst career game in their Week 1 loss to the Detroit Lions. Toney dropped three passes on the night, one of which resulted in a pick-6. All the passes Toney dropped were relatively easy to catch and would have helped the Chiefs win against the Lions. The New York Giants fans clowned Toney on social media after his miserable performance.
On Sunday, the Giants played the Dallas Cowboys at home and suffered a humiliating 40-0 loss. The Giants’ offense failed to score any points and was completely outplayed by the Cowboys. Toney, who played for the Giants for two seasons, took this opportunity to bite back at the Giants and their fans.
Toney posted a story about the game on Instagram and wrote the caption, “Na don’t get quiet now..” Toney has already deleted his Twitter account because of all the negative reactions and abuse he received in the last few days. However, he did not let this opportunity slip as he dug at his former team.
The Chiefs will play the Jacksonville Jaguars in their next game, and Toney will hope to perform better. Conversely, the Giants will play the Arizona Cardinals on September 17 and look to bounce back from a bad loss.
Kadarius Toney deletes his Twitter account after a tough week 1 opener
During last year’s Super Bowl run, Kadarius Toney was a vital part of the Kansas City Chiefs offense. The Chiefs came into week 1 of the 2023 NFL season as firm favorites to defend their title. However, they suffered a horrible loss to the Detroit Lions on Thursday to begin their season. Toney had a nightmare game against the Lions as he dropped three passes.
After a terrible game, Toney faced much criticism from fans and the media. He received so much negativity and abuse on Twitter that he deleted his Twitter account. His Instagram account remains active, though with the comments section restricted.
The Chiefs lost their opening game for the first in the Patrick Mahomes era. They were 5-0 coming into Thursday’s game and expected to win this year’s opener. One of the passes Toney dropped resulted in a pick-6, which was the first interception of Mahomes’ career in week 1. They will look to bounce back against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.
