Kansas City Chiefs were crowned the 2023 World Champions after a nail-biting, last-minute thriller win against the Philadelphia Eagles. The Chiefs won 38-35 and the hero of the night was, as always, — Patrick Mahomes.
The superstar quarterback made crucial plays during the fourth quarter despite not being 100 percent due to an injury. The outcome of Super Bowl LVII was debated for a long time because of the officials’ decision that granted the Chiefs just what they needed to seal the game. Eagles’ cornerback James Bradberry was penalized for holding, which gave Kansas City extra yardage and a fresh set of downs.
No matter how much fans debate on social media or pundits talk about it on air, the confetti was already shot off and the Chiefs lifted the Lombardi Trophy. Arguably the best team in the league right now, Kansas City got to relive their Super Bowl victory on Thursday night as they were presented with the much-awaited Super Bowl LVII rings.
These rings were a literal piece of art and were eye-popping in size. It was beautifully crafted, and it told the story of the Chiefs’ journey to their third championship win. Every small logo and inscription had a story to tell, which made the ring more memorable.
A detailed explanation of the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl ring
The Super Bowl LVII rings were crafted by Jostens and have 609 round diamonds, 16 baguette diamonds, 4 marquise diamonds, and 35 rubies totaling 16.10 carats. The top of the rings has the logo of the Kansas City Chiefs in bright red rubies, along with the three Lombardi trophies the franchise has won so far.
On one side of the ring, it features the years in which the Chiefs won the championship (1969, 2019, 2022) and the player’s name. On the flip side, the ring gave tribute to KC’s fanbase with a “Chiefs Kingdom” inscription. It also has the score of the game, 38-35, and the Lombardi Trophy confetti.
A very cool feature of the ring is that the top is removable. Once removed, the inside resembles a replica of the Arrowhead Stadium, along with a historic quote from founder Lamar Hunt — “Arrowhead Stadium is my favorite place on earth.”
The interior of this beautiful piece of art has the word “EDGE” on it. Apparently, it was head coach Andy Reid’s team motto from the 2022 season. It also carries the signatures of the players and the team’s scores from the playoff games.
The bottom of the ring pays a special tribute to Lamar Hunt with his initials “LH”.
