The Las Vegas Raiders have come back on track after a ‘much needed’ structural change in the team. The Raiders thrashed the New York Giants by 30-6 on Sunday Night Football. The win came after the team sacked their head coach Josh McDaniels, general manager (GM) Dave Ziegler, and offensive coordinator (OC) Mick Lombardi following the abysmal defeat against the Detroit Lions and appointed as the interim head coach.
The appointment of Pierce had an instant impact as it seems. The Raiders registered their fourth win in nine games. They were winless for the past two games and the dressing room was boiling with the discomfort against the former head coach. With his immediate sacking, the team got back the form that they needed.

Considering these factors, Keyshawn Johnson, a former player at the Raiders and the present-day co-host of the talk show Undisputed, made some important remarks. He said Pierce has enough potential to make a stellar difference at the Raiders. He compared him with ‘Coach Prime’ Deion Sanders who is presently in charge of the Colorado Buffaloes team. Under his leadership as a coach, the Buffaloes have performed better than their past three seasons and have registered four wins. Johnson believes that the Raiders can do the same under Pierece’s guidance.
Keyshawn Johnson said:
If I was in the situation, I just want to have a coach I believe in. Now, I can go in the front and say, yeah he has done everything in the right way. He has got me done and we are responding to him. Look at how happy everybody is. The way we are practising, in reference to Antonio Pierce, the Raiders for instance, they are playing music in the locker room. Okay?
He went on to add:
This is going to be somewhat of a Coach Prime for the Las Vegas Raiders.
Who is Antonio Pierce?
Antonio Pierce was a former linebacker who played for the New York Giants for most of his time. He was picked by the Washington Redskins first in the year 2001 and after spending four years on the team, he joined the Giants where he had five seasons.

He was released by the Giants in 2010 and soon after that, he announced his retirement from professional football. He had an intention to become an ESPN analyst. The former linebacker started his coaching career in 2014 with Long Beach Polytechnic High School. After three years, he started coaching at Arizona State. Five years down the line, he became the linebackers’ coach for the Las Vegas Raiders.
Some analysts and fans already advocated his name for the permanent head coach. Pierce needs to pull the Raiders in the coming games to get promoted to that place.
