Whether anyone accepts that Brock Purdy is the real deal or not, Kyle Hamilton is a firm believer. Before the high-voltage game between the San Francisco 49ers and the Baltimore Ravens at Levi’s Stadium, the second-year safety has praised the 49ers quarterback.

Purdy has been a revelation since joining the NFL last season. The Iowa graduate has won 16 and lost just three in the regular season and will be playing postseason in back-to-back seasons. They are the first team to qualify for the NFC with an 11-3 record. Even though he is ESPN Bet’s favorite to win the MVP, the narrative of a system player can’t seem to go away.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan is a master technician, and a section of the analysts argue the 49ers reached the Super Bowl with Jimmy Garoppolo as their quarterback. They can dominate other teams because of the style of play their coach applies. However, Hamilton argued that’s not the case.

The word around the league is that he's a system quarterback, and I just think that's not true. Just from what I've seen, he's making every throw that you can make as a quarterback, on time, on target, and making good decisions. He's mobile, and he's got a great cast around him at the same time. But yeah, he's really good, and props to him.
Kyle Hamilton told reporters.

Kyle Hamilton is eager to face Brock Purdy

For the first time this season, two teams that have already secured postseason spots will face each other. The second-best offense in the league will face the second-best defense in the league. According to BetMGM, the 49ers are 5.5-point favorites over their AFC opponents.

On a lighter note, Shanahan’s men have beaten every single franchise with a bird in their name. So Sunday night will be an interesting matchup, and Hamilton is eager to face Purdy.

It's a pretty cool story of what he's done now, and he's in the MVP race, so it's going to be a good challenge, but I'm excited to do it.

Purdy has Christian McCaffrey‘s vote, even though he himself is one of the favorites to pip the young QB for the accolade. However, that can wait. There’s still a lot of football left to be played. The 49ers need to keep the momentum going because the games will be harder once the playoffs roll in during the New Year.
