“Same genius who didn’t know the OT rules?” – Kyle Juszczyk’s controversial social media post directed towards the Chiefs triggers Kansas City fans on social media

Fans troll Kyle Juszczyk for being too confident about winning a Super Bowl despite the 49ers lost to the Chiefs, just a few weeks ago.

It has been over 20 days since Super Bowl 58 in Vegas, but Kyle Juszczyk isn’t quite ready to let it go just yet. Doubt any of the San Francisco 49ers players are. But then again, it’s better to forget and move on.

On Sunday, the 49ers fullback shared a snapshot from the Super Bowl, which they lost to the Kansas City Chiefs 25-22. But Juszczyk wanted to make a statement that even if they lose, they will be back.

It was a picture from the first quarter when Juszczyk jumped over Chiefs linebacker Nick Bolton, and then passed cornerback Trent McDuffie to gain some ground. There’s little clarity as to why he would post such a picture after losing the game. But then again, when one year begins, there’s always the next.

The 49ers were leading 10-3, which the Chiefs quickly caught up with, forcing overtime. But the 49ers seemingly made a mistake by deciding to receive the ball instead of kicking. As a result, even after they scored through a Jake Moody field goal, the Chiefs won the game through a late Mecole Hardman touchdown.

Kyle Juszczyk, after the game, revealed that he had no clue that the league had changed the rules over time. He wasn’t the only one with the same reaction, or fans would make excuses. Most were beginning to forget the statements, but the 32-year-old’s Instagram post has reignited the criticism that the 49ers players faced earlier this month.

Kyle Juszczyk’s future with the 49ers is in doubt

The 49ers would love to keep their roster intact, but as it stands, there are rumors they would have to lay off some. Similar to Brandon Aiyuk, Kyle Juszczyk is another name that may find himself in free agency in the offseason. An insider told the 49ers webzone:

Juszczyk has been in San Francisco for all seven of [Kyle Shanahan's] years as coach. He turns 33 in April and is scheduled to earn $6.25 million in salary and bonuses in each of the next two seasons. None of that money is guaranteed.
The insider told

Even though Kyle Shanahan had high praise for the player before the Super Bowl, calling him an important player for the team, financial constraints may force the 49ers to take the tough decision. Cutting him would save the 49ers $4.911 million against their 2024 cap.
